Two of the four actives in AlkaSlim work on different parts of the same meal — Baobab Fiber on bulk and regularity, L-Arabinose on how the gut handles table sugar.
A BLUNTED SUGAR RESPONSE
What Baobab Fiber Adds
Baobab fruit pulp is roughly half soluble and half insoluble fibre. The soluble part adds to the gel that slows a meal down; the insoluble part adds bulk, which is the ordinary route to more regular digestion.
What L-Arabinose Is Studied For
L-Arabinose is a plant sugar found in beet pulp and corn fibre, studied as a selective inhibitor of intestinal sucrase — the enzyme that splits table sugar into glucose and fructose. Small human studies show a blunted blood-sugar rise when it's taken alongside sucrose.
Why AlkaSlim's Label Names Them Together
Both sit among AlkaSlim's four named actives, alongside Konjac Glucomannan and Spermidine. No individual milligram amount is disclosed for either on the materials we were given.
A Note on Individual Response
If you manage diabetes or take medication that affects blood sugar, talk to your doctor before starting AlkaSlim — ingredients that influence sugar handling are worth flagging to your care team.
